Marani and Satrapezo

The picturesque valley of the Alazani river is the location of a fertile region – Kakheti, known for its age-old traditions of producing high quality wines. The largest and the most important town of the region – Telavi – is situated in the heart of the valley. It is also home to the “Telavi Wine Cellar”, founded in 1915. For nearly a century, we have blended innovation with a sense of history, keeping faithful to the noble traditions of Kakhetian winemaking, while adapting to modern methods of wine production. Telavi Wine Cellar has its own vineyards in KONDOLA, in TSINANDALI micro-region (240 h) and KINDZMARAULI micro-region (30.5 h). KONDOLI vineyard grows the autochthonous Georgian varieties, such as: Saperavi, Rkatsiteli, Mtsvane, Kisi, Aleksandreuli. A small production area is also assigned for international varieties, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Chardonnay, Riesling. The other vineyard only contains Saperavi vine. The assortment of “Telavi Wine Cellar” wines under the brand “MARANI” and “SATRAPEZO” is overly impressive, and comprises not only traditional types of wine, but also selected ones, produced in limited quantities. The wine is sorted there according to vineyards, grape selection, crop size, winemaking traditions and production technology. Our products reflect the distinctive and diverse character of Georgian wines, stressing all that is best among the numerous Georgian vine varieties originating from this unique land.
