GEVELLI

The Gevelli Wine & Vineyards winery is situated in the beautiful, picturesque valley of Alazani, in Tsinandali appellation. It comprises of 60 hectares of awe-inspiring lands, perfect for practicing winemaking traditions. The very unique terroir is responsible for the birth of one of the most wonderful Vitis Vinifera grapes seen to this day. The valley of Alazani river is a magical place which is believed to be the cradle of the world’s winemaking. The oldest traces of cultivating and processing grapes found on archeological sites date back to 6000 years B.C.
The land in which the Gevelli cultivations are located is called Lionidzis Zvari, which translates as „the Earth of Lionidzis” – it originates from its former 18th century owner Solomon Lionidze, an excellent diplomat and chancellor of Georgian King Erekle II. The vines grown in Gevelli vineyards are deemed to be the most unique of the whole Tsinandali micro-region, and are famous for the highest-quality, inimitable bouquet which they release while ageing.
Gevelli Wine & Vineyards is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies and machinery for producing wine, which – in combination with the grape varieties endemic for this region, age-old winemaking traditions passed on from generation to generation in Georgia, and the great love of wine of our Winemaker Levan Garibashivli – is setting a new standard on the Georgian wines market.
