Kindzamaruli Marani
Kindzmarauli Marani was established within the area of Kindzmarauli vineyard in early 21st century. Year 2005 saw the final completion of the several years-long modernization of one of the oldest and best-situated vineyards. At present, it is a fully-equipped winery, which holds the most modern equipment for processing grapes.
The technology used allows to preserve the features of original Georgian varieties, and is a guarantee of the highest quality of wine. The wine is stored in barrels made of French oak. The plant also includes a high-class laboratory for performing the necessary chemical and microbiological analyses at all stages of the production process.
The owners have also ensured development of the local enotourism. Tours around the winery are organized, allowing to learn the history and tradition of producing wine.
Among the information passed are facts about ancient grape varieties; visitors may also witness harvest or production of the famous Georgian wine distillate – Chacha. Marani Wine House has operated in Kindzmarauli since 2008; there, 23 types of endemic Georgian wines can be tasted and purchased.
Georgia is the cradle of winemaking. It is here that the eldest traces giving evidence for a highly developed winemaking civilization were found, dating back 10 thousand years ago. It is likely the inhabitants of today’s Georgia that taught other tribes this difficult craft.
